Our Classes

Organizations We Have Done Trainings For:

AND SO MANY MORE….

We have conducted over 4 dozen workshops total, strengthening the advocacy skills and missions of over 15 prominent student organizations.

Want to see us in action? Check out our guest lecture for ILR3300: Advocacy and Debate!

In Spring, 2021, we became the first student organization to guest-teach in a rostered Cornell class, leading two, two-hour sessions for Cornell’s Advocacy and Debate Course. We joined students for lessons on:

  • Civility in Advocacy (May 5, 2021). 2020 was a year of unprecedented American involvement in protest, with Black Lives Matter mobilizing over 25 million demonstrators to join over 2,000 marches. Reflecting on this activism, we explored the role so-called “civil discourse” in advocacy. We asked students: Is there an inherent civility or incivility in advocacy? What role should action considered “uncivil” play in our activism

  • Self Advocacy (May 12, 2021). You can’t advocate for others if you don’t fist know how to advocate for yourself. In our second lesson, we focused on building students’ confidence in their ability to use their voice and networks to advance their own wellbeing.

“Misconceptions are formed quite easily and being a good advocate is the first step towards sharing one’s story and information.”
